Justice League

I didn’t hate this movie, but I didn’t love it, either. It seems like DC just can’t quite get the tone right with their movies. The best part of this was easily The Flash. Any time Ezra Miller was on screen, I was smiling, if not laughing. Overall, it wasn’t boring, but I just didn’t care that much.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

This is the weirdest movie I’ve seen in a long time. And as much as I want to hate it, I just can’t. It’s mesmerizing. The acting and line delivery is so dry and static, and it works in the strangest of ways. I can’t begin to describe whatΒ Barry Keoghan is doing here, it’s just so odd and creepy. It seems both terrible and fantastic at the exact same time. It’s impressive, if not baffling. This movie is not for most people. At all. But a strange few might really dig it.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Hey! I liked it! Great cast. Really funny/silly. Good action sequences. What’s not to like? Just some good ‘ole fashion fun.

I enjoyed this movie. It’s weird, a little spooky, and pretty interesting. But it’s definitely not perfect. It sort of reminded me of Prometheus in that you’ve got all of these “professionals” who do a lot of seemingly unprofessional things. But, like Prometheus, I can look past the little “why?” moments, and enjoy the ride. And it’s a cool ride. More than anything, it’s visually beautiful. The world inside “The Shimmer” is just really cool. The ending is fine, though nothing mind-blowing. All-in-all, I liked it. Check it out and let me know what you think.
