Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I’m so torn by this movie… the best parts are some of the best parts in the whole franchise, but the low parts are pretty low. Maybe not prequels low, but there were just some strange choices. Overall, this is a fun, high-energy installment of the Star Wars saga. The music is awesome, as always, and the acting is fantastic. I mostly could’ve done without so much comedy. It just felt forced. No pun intended. Or was it? I DON’T KNOW ANYMORE! Honestly, I think I need to see it again to have a good opinion, but for now, it fell a little short to me.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

This is definitely better than the first one of this series. I liked seeing more of the characters from my childhood. It’s not really a good movie, but it’s nostalgic, and I like that. Worth seeing if you are/were ever a fan of the Turtles.

The Disaster Artist

So good. The first half(ish) of the movie is just about Tommy and Greg meeting, which I didn’t expect. It wasn’t all that funny, not in a bad way, but it had me a little worried. But don’t fret, once they start filming The Room, it’s hilarious. Before the credits they show a lot of side-by-sides of scenes they reshot for The Disaster Artist from The Room (that’s not confusing, is it?). I could’ve watched those all day. So freakin’ funny. I hope they reshot the whole movie and release that at some point. Also, stay for the post-credit scene. Hilarious.

Killing Gunther

This movie is super funny. Teran Killam is great, but Bobby Moynihan really steals the show. It’s shot documentary style, which can be gimmicky, but I thought this one was really well done. You can tell some thought was put into it. Solid acting, solid plot, solid ending. The humor may not be for everyone, but it was right up my alley.

Logan Lucky

This movie was really fun. It’s definitely pretty unrealistic, but it’s a pretty unique take on a heist movie. I thought Channing Tatum and Adam Driver worked really well as brothers, and there might have even been a part where I cried a little. Don’t tell.

Atomic Blonde

Stylistically, this is a pretty cool movie. Plot-wise, it’s a little too convoluted. I feel like it thinks it’s much more clever than it actually is. There is one fight scene in particular that is super awesome, though, and probably worth seeing the movie for (although something very similar was done, and done better, in Daredevil). Still, it’s quite impressive. Overall, pretty meh, but enough action to keep your attention.
