Jason Bourne

Congratulations! It’s a Bourne Movie! Obviously, another movie about Jason Bourne wasn’t necessary, and the stuff you learn in this movie isn’t something you’ve been dying to figure out, but… butt kickin’ and car chasin’! Seriously, it’s a fun movie. If you like Bourne movies, you’ll like this movie. Also, Tommy Lee Jones has A LOT of wrinkles.

The Legend of Tarzan

Well, whatdoyaknow? This was pretty good! It was an interesting retelling of the Tarzan story where Tarzan has been reintegrated into society, but he has to go back to the jungle for a reason I won’t tell you, because NO SPOILERS! There are some cheesy parts, and some super-unrealistic parts (not surprisingly), but the plot was decent and the special effects were actually pretty sweet. Also, Sheena said that guy and I have pretty much the same body. Probably. She probably said that.

I really, really liked this movie. It’s a thinker. I will say that it’s extremely slow. Almost to a fault for quite a while. I get why. I get they are really setting things up. But there came a point where I knew something important was about to happen, and I just wanted it to happen already! In the end, the payoff was worth the wait, for me. It’s a very hopeful movie, and being hopeful about the future is something we need right now. Any movie that has us standing outside the theater discussing it afterwards is a success to me. Definitely check this one out.

Little Men

I legitimately liked this movie, but it could’ve easily been a short film. There were a whole lot of long, “artsy” shots, and it still wasn’t even and hour and a half long. The highlight of the movie was definitely Michael Barbieri. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more from this kid.

Magnificent Seven

Pretty entertaining. I wouldn’t run out to the theater to see it or anything, but it’s a fun western. Denzel is great. Chris is funny.

Rogue One

The more I think about this, the more I love it. The very beginning is a bit confusing/convoluted, and the first half or so is kinda slow, but the second half is freakin’ awesome. There are a ton of tie-ins to the original trilogy, which is a lot of fun and, at times, a nice surprise. The characters are fantastic, highlighted by a hilarious new droid, K-2SO. And the ending? Perfection. I’ve got more to say, but I don’t want to give anything away. I really can’t wait to see this again.
