The World’s End

Although this is definitely my least favorite of the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), it’s still a fun movie. It’s a little more depressing than the others, and not quite as laugh-out-loud funny, but there were quite a few great moments.

Kick-Ass 2

If you liked the first Kick-Ass movie, you’ll like this one. It seems a little more “teen” to me because of a Hit Girl subplot, but it’s still got all the goodness of the first one. The addition of new heros and villains was fun. Good stuff.

Elysium

I loved District 9, so I had high hopes for this one. Although visually quite nice, this movie was a letdown. It’s not terrible, but there’s nothing really there. I don’t have much to say, honestly. I was just kind of bored.

The Heat

This is a cliche buddy cop movie in the very best way. It was way funnier than I expected, and Bullock and McCarthy made a great duo. And the soundtrack is pretty awesome.

We’re the Millers

This is a solid comedy, plain and simple. The plot works well, the characters are great, and it’s funny. It’s definitely rated R, so be ready for that, I guess?
