The Lincoln Lawyer

First off, this was nothing like I thought it would be. For some reason I thought it was going to be a feel-good type movie, where a lawyer works out of his old car to keep his cost down so he can help people who can’t afford expensive lawyers. I guess I took that all from the poster? No idea. It’s not like that at all. It’s more about a shady lawyer who helps bad folks get out of trouble, but then kind of gets a conscience, I guess. Anyway, it’s really good. Until the end. I mean, I still liked it, but they just kind of when crazy at the end. I honestly thought the movie was over. The car was driving off into the sunset, the problems had been solved. And then we get like 20 more minutes of all this random crap being fixed that we didn’t really know was a problem. I guess they kind of wanted a twist ending, but there was no reason for it. The movie was great without it. Better, even. Oh well. Worth checking out.

I liked this movie, for the most part. But it’s very, very similar to Kick-Ass, which is a far better film. Wimpy, bullied guy makes himself into a super hero with a terrible costume. Starts trying to fight crime on his own. Meets someone else who wants to do the same thing. Lots and lots of gore. See? Kick-Ass. This one was a little more quirky. Sometimes that was good, sometimes not. But then there’s Ellen Page. Ugh. Terrible. I’d almost say don’t see it because of her.

The Hangover II

Did you see The Hangover? Then you’ve pretty much already seen The Hangover II. It’s kind of sad how unimaginative the plot for this movie is. Oh, but they’re in Bangkok, not Vegas. So… yeah. That being said, it’s still pretty dang funny. Zach Galifianakis steals the show, yet again. Pretty much anytime he talks, I’m laughing. If you liked the first one, it’s worth seeing, but there aren’t really going to be any surprises. IT HAPPENED AGAIN!

This was just kind of a random pick. And I loved it. It’s a British film (actually takes place in Wales), and is very much a Wes Anderson-style movie. But not in a rip off way. In a good way. It’s pretty much about an awkward kid who doesn’t really fit in at school trying to get a girlfriend, and keep his parents together, and that sort of stuff. It’s very quirky and funny and I’d say if you like Wes Anderson/Noah Baumbach type stuff, you’ll definitely like this.

I am pretty picky about comedys. I dont like to see them because most of the time it retarded zingers, but the hangover movies make me laugh so hard. I really love them. I went to this movie at an old drive in with my mom, which could have been uncomfortable at times, but we were both laughing so hard. My mom is cool.
